Information ONLY on Official page: Simon Borg-Olivier – 200h Teacher Training Salento 2027
Spend a month studying directly with Simon Borg-Olivier and discover a deeper understanding of yoga through movement, breath, meditation, and modern science.
This 200-hour teacher training brings together Yoga Synergy, 5-Dimensional Flow, qigong, breath science, anatomy, and physiology into one integrated approach. You’ll explore how these practices work in your own body and learn how to share them with others through clear, adaptable teaching.
The emphasis is on understanding the principles behind practice: how to move with less unnecessary tension, breathe more efficiently, adapt postures intelligently, and develop strength without losing softness or ease.
A full month gives you time to practise, ask questions, refine your understanding, and absorb the teachings. Supported by the peaceful Mediterranean setting of Agricola Samadhi, you can enter a daily rhythm of focused study, shared practice, nourishing food, and rest.
The Method
Simon’s teaching draws on a lifetime of personal practice, research, and study with teachers from India, China, Tibet, Japan, and beyond. The training integrates three closely connected systems:
Yoga Synergy
Developed over more than 40 years by physiotherapists Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss, Yoga Synergy combines traditional yoga wisdom with modern medical science. You’ll study the principles behind posture, movement, breathing, and internal control, with practical applications for different bodies and needs.
5-Dimensional Flow
Explore the common foundations of natural movement across yoga, qigong, martial arts, dance, and therapeutic exercise. Through Mind, Joint, Spinal, Breath, and Core Synergy, you’ll learn to move from the lower abdominal centre and rediscover fluidity, internal connection, and meditative awareness.
5D Synergy Flow
Bring both systems together into one complete practice and teaching method. The structure and precision of Yoga Synergy meet the whole-body integration of 5-Dimensional Flow, connecting posture, movement, breath, anatomy, and awareness.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout the training, you’ll explore how to:
- Move from the true core, creating more connected, stable, and fluid movement.
- Build strength without unnecessary tension, gripping, or excessive effort.
- Develop flexibility without forcing, using intelligent joint action and spinal reflexes.
- Understand pranayama and breath science, including breath volume, role of carbon dioxide, internal pressures, and circulation.
- Explore bandha, mudra, and kriya through direct practice and clear physiological explanation.
- Adapt traditional yoga postures for different bodies, abilities, and needs.
- Integrate seated and moving meditation into a calm and energizing practice.
- Teach from principles rather than scripts, with greater clarity, sensitivity, and embodied understanding.
The Daily Training Experience
Morning: 5-Dimensional Flow
Morning sessions focus on the five aspects of the 5D Flow method: Mind Synergy, Joint Synergy, Spinal Synergy, Breath Synergy, and Core Synergy.
Practices may include seated and moving meditation, chanting, kriya techniques, self-massage, pranayama, and internal movement. You’ll explore how movement, breath, and attention can work together to support circulation, ease, and a calm yet energized state.
Sessions begin slowly and simply. As your understanding develops, the practice becomes more integrated, progressing towards longer, visually guided meditative sessions with music.
Afternoon: Yoga Synergy & Applied Integration
Afternoon sessions bring these principles into Yoga Synergy practice, postural work, applied anatomy, physiology, and teaching methodology.
You’ll examine the mechanics of asana, explore practical adaptations, and learn how to integrate the 5D Flow method into the Yoga Synergy Fundamentals sequence. Demonstrations, explanations, questions, and guided practice help you understand both what to do and why it works.
Between sessions, there is time to eat, rest, study, enjoy the surroundings, and let the learning settle. Exact session times may be adjusted to meet the needs of the group.
Who This Training Is For
This training is designed for dedicated yoga practitioners, aspiring and experienced teachers, and movement professionals seeking depth and practical understanding.
It is particularly relevant if you want to develop a more sustainable personal practice, understand the relationship between traditional teachings and modern science, or become more confident adapting your teaching to different people.
Many students come to Simon to deepen and connect knowledge they have already gathered elsewhere. Some prior experience of yoga or movement is expected.
